As any half decent software comes at
a price in today's society, it's still refreshing to find that there
is some great stuff on the world wide web that you can get for free.
Stuff that you could possibly pay an arm and a leg for should it be
for sale in the shops.
Below is a list of software that you can download and use for free.
Some of which (should you be interested in doing so and have the technical
ability) you can get involved with and help to develop further.
Check them out and see what you think.
| AVG |
Free anti virus solution. You can
buy it to get more functionality, but for basic cover on your
system you can't go wrong with this. I've been using it for years
with very little trouble at all. |

| Open
Office |
To quote their own website.
"... the leading open-source office software suite for word
processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and
more. It is available in many languages and works on all common
computers. It stores all your data in an international open standard
format and can also read and write files from other common office
software packages. It can be downloaded and used completely free
of charge for any purpose." |

| GIMP |
A great free graphics package with
all the tools you need to do just about anything any of the top
brand packages can do, plus there are some great tutorials
online to help you acheive the artistic results you're after. |
